This blog is a testimony to how much our Heavenly Father loves us. He sent his only son Jesus to die for our sins. See, we are the ones who deserve death for our transgressions of God’s law but Jesus selflessly took our punishment for us. Because he was resurrected three days after his death we now can be forgiven of all of our sins if we repent, turn from our sinfulness, and trust Jesus for our salvation and everlasting life.
I am a born again believer, as is my husband, but it wasn’t until recently that we’ve really begun to learn in-depth God’s ways through His word instead of following traditions of men. My recent spiritual growth and what I have learned so far on this progression is what will be documented here. It all began in earnest when I asked YHWH (pronounced Yahuah although some say Yahweh) to give me wisdom and reveal more about the Holy Spirit to me. By no means was this a quick prayer with an equally immediate answer, it was a long season of praying for wisdom and asking for direction before the teaching commenced. (Warning: It’s generally a given that YHWH will put you through some refining fire before you are spiritually ready to have the answer to what you asked for. Don’t let that thought deter you, though, He will just be drawing you closer to Him and increasing your righteousness along the way.)
To begin, let’s look at what scripture says about the Holy Spirit and see that He reveals wisdom to those who ask:
When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. John 16:13 ESV
And the Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD. Isaiah 11:2 ESV
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. John 14:26 ESV
These are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. 1 Cor 2:10 NIV
I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. Eph 1:17 NIV
The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge, for the ears of the wise seek it out. Prov 18:15 NIV
For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict. Luke 21:15 ESV
If I am honest, YHWH required me to fully submit to Him in obedience before He was answered my prayers in the way I longed for, and I admit it was a bit painful at times. It is because sin often gets in the way of you hearing God speak so you must die to yourself and follow Him. YHWH if faithful, though, and as my sanctification began to increase, so did the appointed times of learning. I have realized that if we want an increased blessing in any area of our lives we must be faithful (read: obedient) with what YHWH has already given to us:
Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. Luke 16:10 NIV
The reality is, in this life I will never be done with my sanctification or my learning and for that I will eternally praise Jesus, but as He opens my eyes I find that I actually know far less than when I started! Or, in other words, I thought I knew more before I began asking questions. YHWH’s physical and supernatural realms are far more intricate than we can imagine and there is far more to our existence than we can ever dream or hope.
20 Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us, 21 to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen. Eph. 3:20-21 AMP
Now, be advised, this blog is Spirit-led and scripture-saturated. By that I mean that I fully submit to the Holy Spirit and will write on the topics He directs me to, as He directs me to, but this blog will also be balanced with scripture. Our lives need to be Spirit-filled and Bible-saturated! 1 Thessalonians 5:21 tells us to test all things and hold on to what is good, meaning that when you hear a teaching about God or spiritual things always compare it to what the Bible says. If the two things don’t agree, stick with what the Bible says and drop the other information like a live grenade! Same goes for this blog, that you should not take my word for anything but please test everything against scripture. The Holy Spirit will confirm things as you read the Bible and humbly seek the truth.
Did you know that whatever is done on earth, in this physical realm, is also done in the spiritual realm? In Matthew 18:18 Jesus said “Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” To the undiscerning eye the physical realm has only brief and infrequent encounters with the spiritual, but in fact the two realms are inextricably linked; they coexist and whatever is done in each realm likewise affects the other realm. Don’t believe that the spiritual realm can be readily perceived? Well if you believe that God is real you need to remember that He is spirit, and although you can’t see or touch Him, He truly exists and He exists in a real dimension that we don’t normally see. The Bible itself is full of the supernatural and it would be very unwise to deny that the supernatural realm does not have active supernatural elements today:
The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. 1 Cor 2:14 NIV
This means that your words and actions give either God’s kingdom or Satan’s kingdom permission to act upon the earth. Why do we have this ability? Well, people are spiritual beings too, it tells us so in 1 Cor. 6:17: But the one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with Him. (NASB)
It’s not just the people of God that have this ability to activate supernatural resources; any human may set spiritual forces into motion because we are created in His image as body, soul, and spirit. In fact, Proverbs 18:21 says that death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits. (ESV)
Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be. James 3:10 NIV
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. Eph 4:29 NIV
Your tongue plots destruction, like a sharp razor, you worker of deceit. Psalm 52:2 ESV
If you are alive and have the ability to communicate, then you have the ability to communicate across realms even if you don’t realize it.
Pertaining To YHWH
This is to address the use of YHWH on this blog, and express my opinion about it. Although it is not a salvation issue, and many believe differently, it is important to be aware of. Did you know that YHWH is God’s real name? Of course it looks unpronounceable because it is an English translation of Hebrew in which vowels are inferred. In English it is usually pronounced as Yahweh or Yahuah.
I will be referring to God as YHWH from most of the time, mainly because it is His name, and I do it out of respect. It is His covenant name given to us that the King James Version originally translated into ‘LORD’ so now most versions replace YHWH with LORD. Why would they do this, I wonder? Also, Jesus said in the Lord’s Prayer that the Father’s name is hallowed, not his title. “Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name…” (Matt 6:9, italics mine). It doesn’t say the designation of ‘God’ or ‘LORD’ is hallowed! Besides, anyone can deceitfully appropriate His title: Satan, Nimrod, Zeus, Osiris, Jupiter, and Baal… I am looking at you! (Actually, did you know Baal means ‘lord’?!) Satan wants to usurp YHWH’s throne but he cannot touch His name in which His very character is revealed. How do you feel when you are called by the wrong name? It’s insulting enough when a coffee barista pronounces or spells our name incorrectly! How about if we were referred to as “Hey, human!”? Additionally, Jesus is from the Greek translation of His Hebrew name Yeshua into English, so you will also read that Hebrew name for our Saviour in these blogs, although I do not believe there is necessarily more power in His Hebrew name than his English one. I was saved by the name of Jesus, have cast out demons in the name of Jesus, and broken curses in the name of Jesus. I have even heard demons refer to Him as Jesus. The power is in the person, not the name! I also like to use Jesus’ Hebrew name because that’s what His family and disciples called Him. It’s up to you in which language you say His name, just remember whom you are speaking to and use due reverence, respect and fear of your Creator.
“We refer to Him as “Jesus” because, as English-speaking people, we know of Him through English translations of the Greek New Testament. Scripture does not value one language over another, and it gives no indication that we must resort to Hebrew when addressing the Lord. The command is to “call on the name of the Lord,” with the promise that we “shall be saved” (Acts 2:21; Joel 2:32). Whether we call on Him in English, Korean, Hindi, or Hebrew, the result is the same: the Lord is salvation.”

Here and here are links to further websites that do a fantastic job of explaining this in further detail. Of course, feel free to research this using your own resources and ask YHWH what He would have you do. Bottom line, YHWH meets us where we’re at and when we call out to Him and His Son He honours our intentions. Again, I am not a “sacred namer”, I believe that the power lies in the person of our Saviour not his name or title so please do not be obstinate about this and just be pliable to the Holy Spirit as He leads. Do not get caught up or distracted about this issue, I am simply explaining why you will see Hebrew names on this blog. Although I am grafted onto the olive branch I am not culturally Hebrew and I do not speak the language.
Have you ever wondered about spiritual things? Have you ever sat in church or Bible study group and found that the explanations and messages just didn’t go deep enough to satisfy questions in your heart about the nature of God, His kingdom, and how spiritual things relate to the natural world? I had questions about the mysteries of the world, and history, and how they fit in with the truth in the Bible. Who better to get answers for my questions than from YHWH Himself? Regarding the topic of searching for truth and for answers, did you know that Jesus is called the truth? Actually, He is the truth, and the only way to have everlasting life:
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6 ESV
Do you want to live without worry or pain, sorrow or suffering? Then you, my friend, want to go to heaven indeed! All it takes is acknowledging that Jesus as the Son of God who lived a sinless life and died to take the punishment for your sins, and was raised from the dead three days later. Ask Him to forgive your sins and earnestly turn from your transgressions, trusting in Him forevermore for your salvation.
YHWH is a good Father and He is eternally faithful! He is opening my eyes to this world as it really is, also revealing the many deceptions that are obscuring the truth from His people and all of humanity. The Bible has since come alive and the things that used to be foreign to me are now making sense. Everything is steadily meshing into one grand image spanning across the ages. You know how in 2 Corinthians 13:1 it says that two or three witnesses are required to confirm a fact in? Well all 66 books of the Bible confirm each other and all contain the same message: they point to Jesus as the salvation of mankind and prove the love of God for us over and over and over!
I feel that YHWH is calling me to curate and amalgamate the things I have been learning and I am to share how He is opening the eyes of my heart. I sincerely hope this blog will be a resource to others who are hungry for His wisdom, knowledge and truth. We must use the light to expose the darkness, and everything that is illuminated will become a light itself (Eph 5:13).
Since we now have established the reality of the spiritual, we must immediately deal with the existence of evil. There’s no question that it exists and is ruled by Satan, who is a real individual.
Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8 ESV
Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'” Matt 4:10 NIV
Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. James 4:7 NASB
I know without a doubt that evil exists because I’ve encountered it both in the natural and supernatural realms. Satan is for real and is personally involved in pursuing your demise and mine:
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. John 10:10 ESV
No way do I want the devil’s schemes to succeed in anyone’s life! I am a firm adherent to engaging in spiritual warfare and using it in order to overcome the enemy’s plans to deliver people from spiritual bondage (being oppressed by the enemy in varying degrees). I would consider this a practice, just as a doctor or lawyer’s work is called a practice, because there is always more to know. Ideally every Christian should have a healthy and passionate spiritual warfare life. Otherwise the devil sneaks in, so subtly you won’t even know it. One day a while ago I mused that it would be a good idea to know more about the enemy in order to defeat him. A novel idea! I do not want to glorify the enemy and his capabilities in any way; I simply want to know about his abilities in order to strategize. More importantly, I want to know what we as the people of YHWH are capable of! I prayed for wisdom about this and discovered biblically grounded teachings rooted in both word and spirit. Both are equally essential to defeating evil. I am constantly learning more about scripture and the spiritual realm, and I pray that this blog will effectively communicate what I am led to share.
As YHWH began showing me what the enemy is capable of, I couldn’t help but conclude that He wants us to know much, much more and have greater kingdom power available to us and flowing through us in Jesus’ name! Of course YHWH wants His people to know and accomplish far great things than the evil forces do! He is calling ALL of His people to be anointed to do such things!
Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you. Luke 10:19 ESV
And he called to him his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every affliction. Matt 10:1 ESV
You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. 1 John 4:4 NASB
So I decided to ask for that anointing. Whatever that looks like doesn’t matter because His will is being done in me and through me. His will… not mine. I am a willing servant of the Most High. Besides, I’ve been through enough calamity and heartbreak to know that I don’t want to pursue my own agenda anymore, or try to be my own god. I’ve decided to submit to the One who knows me best and knew me before I was even born; He who knit me in my mother’s womb, and who has plans for me, who knows what’s best for me because He knows exactly why and what He made me for! Why deny my true identity anymore? It’s time for this prodigal daughter to run into her Heavenly Father’s loving arms and embrace my destiny. (Enter trumpet call!)
Exploring methods to defeat Satan in our lives will be a large component to this blog. The tragedy is that the majority of Western churches are not teaching spiritual warfare or much of anything about the spiritual realm to their congregations, even though the Bible tells us that our struggles are supernatural! The body of Christ is woefully under-prepared to exercise our power over the enemy so this blog will share powerful resources we can all utilize in order to learn how to do this.
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Eph 6:12 NIV
My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. “Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children. Hosea 4:6 NIV
In the meantime, may you grow in the Word of God and the witness of the Holy Spirit.
